Wine, Whiskers and Wags (& Beer!)
2020 Event is CANCELED
As we all begin to deal with the coronavirus (COVID-19), we want to send our most heartfelt wishes to you, our supporters, for your safety during this challenging and uncertain time.
In order to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), on March 17, 2020, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam told Virginians to avoid non-essential gatherings of more than 10 people, per federal guidelines. In light of this and out of an abundance of caution, the Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter (Friends) has decided to cancel the 14th Annual Wine, Whiskers, Wags (& Beer!) event that was scheduled for May 17, 2020, at the Farm Brewery and Winery at Broad Run. We have never faced a situation so beyond our control, but your safety and the community’s safety are our top priority.
We remain hopeful that once the public health crisis has passed and restrictions on large gatherings have been lifted, Friends will be able to explore the possibility of having another event later this year.
Our work most certainly continues – Friends will always be hard at work caring and finding homes for our pets at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. Please continue to follow us and how you can help.
Sponsors and attendees who have already paid for services will have the option to transfer their purchase(s)/sponsorship(s) to a future event; transfer the purchase(s)/sponsorship(s) as a donation to Friends; or be refunded by check. Please let us know how you would like your refund distributed.
Friends will share information on any future planned activities via Friends website, email mailing list, and social media platforms.
We are all in this together and hope you and your pets stay safe.
