How you can help
There are a variety of ways you can make a difference — today.

Donate. Your tax-deductible donations help the Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter (FFCAS) provide vital support and care to animals suffering from illness, injury, neglect, abandonment or abuse. All donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law. You'll be directed to a secure site to make your donation. To donate by mail, send a check payable to: Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter P.O. Box 2321 Centreville, Virginia 20122 If you're donating specifically to the Safe Haven program or for one of our "special needs"* animals, please note it in the Comments field of your payment. *Once the special needs request is met, the FFCAS will put any remaining funds toward the care of other shelter animals.

Attend events.

Each year, the FFCAS hosts several fund-raising and pet adoption events. Learn about upcoming events, or contact us at events@ffcas.org.

Volunteer.

FFCAS is an all-volunteer organization. We rely on our volunteers to help with fund-raising events, adoption efforts and more.

Consider adoption.

Loving pets are waiting at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter for their new families to find them. Visit our adopt a pet section to learn more.

Be a responsible pet owner.

Have your pet spayed or neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. Fairfax County offers several reduced cost rabies clinics each year.

Buy a 2010 calendar.

This 12-month calendar is filled with photos of adorable shelter animals. All proceeds from the calendar sales support the FFACS. To purchase yours, visit www.lulu.com.

Purchase animal friendly license plates.

Want to show your support for spaying and neutering? Buy a specialty plate, and $15 from each sale goes toward spay-and-neuter programs in your area. To order, visit www.dmv.virginia.gov.
