Harley gets a helping hand

Harley is a 5-year old Miniature Pinscher with back problems that left him incontinent and unable to use his back legs. He came to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter when his owners simply could no longer manage his medical issues, despite loving him. FFCAS knew this little dog had the potential to make a big impact to a new, caring family and agreed to fund rehab treatments.

When he first came to the shelter, he was in a doggie wheelchair. But after some physical therapy session at VCA Centreville Animal Hospital, he began to move his rear legs and support his own weight.

Harley now has a new family and is continuing to improve.

Rehab like this is a big undertaking, thank you to the FCAS staff and volunteers that are always willing to do what needs to be done to help the animals.
